Kickapalooza!

January 11, 2017 Leave a comment

Three youth groups from different churches got together to have a fun Kickapalooza event at a local park. Pools (bases) were full of gross stuff like anchovies and spaghetti and who knows what else! I was asked to capture the fun and grossness. So here is the result:

Vacation and My Son’s Edits

We recently went on vacation, and normally I would edit a highlight video, but this time my son edited two videos. They’re pretty fun, so check them out!

Christmas Lip Dub Madness!

December 15, 2016 Leave a comment

Back in the summer, I got this idea for an office lip dub video that goes through the whole building, and employees show up in different places doing weird Christmasy things. We ended up shooting the video in October and did three takes, but we could’ve used the first! Here it is and the behind the scenes video is below. I hope it makes you smile!!

This is a cool coffee house close to my house. I may do a video on the coffee house sometime soon and use some clips from this drone shoot.

A New and Ancient Technology

December 7, 2016 Leave a comment

At 5:55am an alert went off on my phone. That meant that at 6am there would be a Cavetime call (www.cavetime.org). This was a bunch of men from all over the United States that all got on the same call and for 30 minutes shared together and heard Jeff Voth share a word from Luke chapter 2.

At 8am I arrived at work at GNPI (www.gnpi.org). We had friends who make up our network chime in together from all over the world in a one hour long video conference.

New technologies made both of these meetings possible. It’s really neat how we can foster real relationships spanning great physical distances!

In both of this morning’s examples, there was a common denominator that drove us to come together. That is the most ancient of technologies: prayer.

Yes, prayer is the first and remains the most powerful of all technologies.

I realize that this statement is more of a semi-clever way of putting things, and less of a perfect analogy, but as someone who believes in the power of prayer, it’s a nice thought! Through new tech, we came together and did ancient tech with each other. We prayed with and for one another (even in other languages)! It was a thing of beauty, and always is.

I didn’t film this morning’s event. But the last two years at this time I did and you can see those examples below:

A Ukulele Christmas

December 1, 2016 Leave a comment

A couple of years ago, I did a silly little home recording of Christmas songs, all on the ukulele. It was a fun project, so I put it up on noisetrade for free:

Give it a listen this Christmas season, and if you feel inclined to tip $2, maybe I’ll change the strings on the old use sometime soon!
