Congrats to work of the people for their great work in the area of Christian films. I’ve used their videos before and always have had a good response. They just got a blurb in Worship Leader Magazine (which I subscribe to) in a feature called “the Best of the Best”. Here you can see the blurb. Visit them at www.theworkofthepeople.com.

Ordered a New (used) Camcorder
October 29, 2008 · Leave a Comment
I’ve been long over due for a better rig. I finally decided to get a slightly used 3CCD camcorder. Later on down the road I’ll jump on the HD bandwagon, but it’s still early. I can’t wait for my Panasonic DVC30 to arrive. I’m going to re-record a lot of “stock” footage I have already shot, under the better colors and clarity of a prosumer camcorder. Then I’ll be able to upload to www.revostock.com and maybe www.footagefirm.com and possibly others. I’m so excited!

Ron Pearson is very funny. I think I saw him live once. Here’s a great little video he made:

Fireproof and the Love Dare Book
October 12, 2008 · Leave a Comment
I was planning on seeing the movie “Fireproof” back in July. In fact I had RSVPed at a private minister’s screening of the movie in San Antonio. My plan was to go up there early for a convention, but plans didn’t work out. So I waited for the September 26th opening. I was glad to see it do so well, but disappointed that it did not make it to the Rio Grande Valley. Then this weekend Brownsville was one of the 59 new cities that the movie opened in, so I got to see it today. It was very good. I highly recommend it. I’m glad that such movies are being made. I hope one day that I could maybe contribute to something of such great caliber. Go see it. Get others to go as well. Support quality Christian movies. Show Hollywood that a positive message is never out of style!
Without giving away too much, as I watched the movie, I thought that a good resource should come out of it. Apparently, the creators thought so too. There is a companion to the movie in the form of a book called the “Love Dare”. It looks like it would be pretty good. I have not read it, but feel I can safetly recommend it, since it came out of the same source. Here’s a teaser promotion video for it:

Another Muddy River Music Track
October 9, 2008 · Leave a Comment
Another Muddy River Music Track (and another thanksgiving video). This video I did not create. It was done by Mark Fogarty, media missionary for www.muddyrivermedia.org. On this site you can download any of the content FREE! Then you can contribute via paypal what God lays on your heart to support the ongoing ministry of Muddy River.
Anyway, his video in heaven used a song of mine from www.revostock.com. Then most recently this new video- http://www.muddyrivermedia.org/media/muddy-river-media/2008/thankful uses the instrumental music of my song “My Boys”. Mark says he just searched for a “mood” then went to the editor’s choice files, and started listening. He got “My Boys” and only later realized that it was my song. So he let me know about it. What he doesn’t know is that the real song has a strange lyric-
“My boys are the cutest thing since sliced bread.
I know sliced bread isn’t very cute, although…
neither is a sandwhich made of sand.
And life without my boys would be so bland.
Then the song goes one by one with special verses about each one of my three sons. You can hear the song in its entireity at http://www.myspace.com/gregoryfish There’s a cute part towards the end where the kids are laughing on the track.
Without rambling anymore, I highly recommend Muddy River to you. He has all sorts of videos, again for FREE or donation. I’ll be translating some of his videos to spanish, I’m already working on one of them (a Christmas video- “Unspoken Messages”). Here’s his new thanksgiving video that features my song:

Thanksgiving Outtakes

For such a simple little video there should not have been this many outtakes! It should have been one take, but oh well. Such is the wacky world of video.

Thanksgiving in Early October
October 7, 2008 · 2 Comments
I had a thanksgiving meal last night. My in-laws were in town, and since we won’t see them this thanksgiving we celebrated early. Also, I took advantage of this to make a Thanksgiving video for sermonspice early enough to beat the rush. I am thankful that my mother’s surgery went fine, and I’ll keep praying for her continued health.
Here it is. Tomorrow I’ll post some funny outtakes.
