Work light, tape, and an ironing board in filmmaking.

August 15, 2008 · 2 Comments

My newest video is actually not new at all.  I made it a long time ago in Spanish.  It’s been pretty popular on Spanish Spice.  I just hadn’t had the chance to make it in English until now.  I’ve always been an advocate of using what you have at your disposal.  That’s why for lighting I used a work light, and a reflector tape to an ironing board.  I also used the ironing board in taping the 5 page script to it.  You can see the humble setup on the picture.  Enjoy the video and the message.

You can download it and use it here: http://www.sermonspice.com/videos/19456/the-lords-prayer?

Almost Top 10…so close.

August 6, 2008 · Leave a Comment

So close, but yet so far.  “Worship 1/2” made it to number 11 on sermonspice.  I know this because it is the first video on the second page of sermon illustrations.  One more spot and it would’ve been on the top ten list and on the first page.  “Freedom is not Free” has made top ten twice already.  But this is the only other video to make it so far up the ladder, I think.  I’ve had some countdowns make top 20, but in the countdown section, and that’s not as impressive.  “Worship 1/2″ went out in an email blast as noted on a previous post.  It had a very good run even before the blast went out.  It still did not do as well as I had hope, but oh well.  I know that this large conference in Dallas used it.  And my friend in Missouri used it too.  I used it in San Antonio at a convention.  Well, 11 is not bad.  It’s almost top 10.  Of the other producers videos on the blast, one made #3, then mine #11, the next one I found was on page 4 (#40).  So in that regard I’m glad for the result and the exposure.  Ah to manipulate stats…in the Comedic topic, which is the #1 topic, “Worship 1/2 CD info” is #4.  OK, enough of this already!

Next on the slate for production is an English version of “The Lord’s Prayer?” a video I’ve already made in Spanish and has had some good use in various countries already.  I’ll post it here when done.

Line 6- Gear Box Kb37 FUN

August 1, 2008 · Leave a Comment

I recently purchased the Line 6 KB37 toneport  that comes with Gear Box.  I snagged it online for $199.  They sent me 3 and billed me for only 1.  I sent the other 2 back, and recieved a $25 credit for being honest.  Well, anyway, I love it.  It’s awesome.  There’s no need to set up all this electric guitar equipment and mics, etc.  Just plug in and tweek your sounds in Gear Box, and hit record!  Just this morning I was able to throw together two tracks for revostock.com.  It was a breeze.  The electric, mics, drum machine all runs through the same interface.  The software is amazing and so fun.  I’m very pleased.  It makes recording much less tedious and much more inspirational.  Before, by the time I set up I just wasn’t very enthused to be doing any recording.  Now, as seen in the picture, set up is minimal, and recording is enjoyable and easy.  My two offerings uploading today are Distorted Life and Nashville Jam.
